From March 16 to 20, the United States reported 12 outbreaks in wild birds and 27 in poultry of H5N1 HPAI in Indiana and 5 other locations, resulting in 245 wild birds and backyard poultry infected and died, 111 culled, 30,000 commercial poultry infected and died, and 7.259 million culled.

 

2. Canada reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds and 1 in poultry

On March 16 and 19, Canada reported 1 outbreak in wild birds and 1 in poultry of H5N1 HPAI in British Columbia and one other location, resulting in 46 wild birds and backyard poultry infected and died, 65 culled, 7,741 commercial poultry infected and died, and 101,000 culled.

 

3. Estonia reported 2 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
